S.3.5.0 – Release – Fresh overview
Now we provide a new version of the application in which there are several technological and aesthetic changes. The key to the development of the update was the optimisation of work on large amounts of data and the improvement of “how to achieve quick access to the key information”.
Brand new dashboard.
The initial view of the application has changed significantly in the context of the needs of MPS Satellite users. Currently, the option of desktop personalisation has been disabled. The key element is the metric chart indicating the number of printouts or scans produced in a given time. We have introduced several conveniences in the context of working with charts, giving them dynamics in working with the user. Almost every chart is now interactive, thus enabling smooth switching of variables in the chart.
Quantitative statistics definitely dominate on the new desktop, which affects the quick assessment of data quality in the system.
In addition to the already known supplies galaxy – there are pie charts that allow you to orientate in the number of dominant devices in individual segments, such as category, manufacturer or type of device. The automatic system also specifies the segment that dominates in the context of the number of printouts produced – thanks to this we can efficiently assess whether the number of devices from a given segment is consistent with the logic of the print environment management.
Complementing the statistical elements of the desktop are also the views in the Reports tab in which we already provide and we will provide more and more infrastructure comparative mechanisms for its work.
Subtle changes in the view of the general report.
The algorithm that provides information to the general report was also a key element in the S.3.5.0 update. The mechanism for calculating active and inactive machines in the license has been improved, and a control position for verification has been added – when the last data conversion took place.
MPS Satellite is based on acquiring data from devices that actively work in the user’s network. These devices are becoming more technologically advanced, and therefore are also exposed to some kind of downtime in access. The dynamic development of the hardware portfolio is also a challenge in the context of providing current libraries that will allow for proper and maximally extensive data acquisition. Therefore, the user must take into account that metric data can cause some problems.
The view of the general report has been extended with a quantitative message – indicating the amount of meter data that the user’s attention requires. They are calculated on the basis of an advanced algorithm that, thanks to artificial intelligence, analyses the validity of individual metric data.
Artificial intelligence – an algorithm for analyzing the type and category of devices.
Until now, MPS Satellite was powered by a library of categories and types of devices, but the very dynamic development of our application and groups of devices it supports has resulted in the implementation of an algorithm that recognises the category and type of device. Currently, we will automatically find out if the device is a printer, scanner or multifunction device, and in addition we will learn its type of use. Said segmentation by type is an item that will indicate whether the device is used at an early stage, is it blanked in the environment, or whether it has a special role such as a strong focus on a particular type of printing.
We hope that the current update S.3.5.0 will become an inspiration for a new way of using the application, and at the same time a source of knowledge much more specialized and supported by thorough data analysis.
